Everyone will train in both acting and directing, learning the language and experience of both disciplines. You will learn a lot about acting because actors are the LIFE of the play. You can learn this only by acting! The class is an introduction to the work. Therefore directors will not be directing entirely on their own. Please arrive with a couple of brief, 2-person complex scenes you’d like to direct. Audition etiquette, casting/call backs, first read-thru, rehearsal etiquette, discovering the “whole vision” of the piece, cast ensemble warm-ups, rehearsal schedules, how to give notes, etc. will be covered.
